My expertise is in improvisation, not medicine. But actual scientific research now shows that there is a nugget of truth to that whole, “Laughter is the best medicine” saying.

When we laugh, our brains release endorphins (our brain’s ‘feel-good’ chemicals that reduce stress), dopamine (our brain chemical that helps us feel happy and motivated), and serotonin (this one regulates our mood and alleviates any depression).

Improv classes are playtime for grown-ups. It’s important to set aside some time each week to play and laugh, smile and connect. As adults, if we don’t set aside time for something as “silly” as play, we don’t always get around to it.

I’m teaching my 8-week Improv for Adults class at The Arts Center at Johns Creek, starting Wednesday, October 15th. No experience needed. This class will build your confidence, creativity, and most notably, your endorphin levels. Click here to sign up!
