Art Without a Frame

So on Sunday morning, I was listening to WBEZ because that’s the only radio station I listen to when I’m home.  (My old stereo that I bought at Fred Meyer ten years ago is still programmed for all of my favorite Seattle stations.  But of course in Chicago, I don’t get KEXP, I get static. …

The Good, the Bad, and the Monkey ~ In Philly!!

The monkeys and I are hittin’ the road again….east to Philadelphia!  No one in the cast has ever been to Philly before, so it’s all pretty exciting.  Also exciting is that we have not one, but three shows scheduled!  Please see below for the details. The Good, The Bad, and The Monkey Singlehood, Dating, and…

Back from Louisville and heading to Philly!

Taking The Good, the Bad, and the Monkey to my hometown was a success on all fronts!  I’m still so touched and overwhelmed by the number of people that came out to see my show.  There are about 140 seats in the lovely Bunbury Theatre and I was hoping to fill half of them.  So…

Less than a week till Louisville!

I’ve rehearsed with my monkeys, interviewed with Louisville’s weekly papers, and sent emails and updates galore to friends and family in Kentuckiana.   I’m super excited about my upcoming performance of my one-woman show in my hometown! The performance is in the beautiful Bunbury Theatre in downtown Louisville this Saturday, August 14th at 8pm.  Click here…

A Ni(e)ce Visit

One of the perks of living closer to my hometown is that it’s easier for visitors to come up.  Yesterday, my sister and three of my nieces came up from Louisville for an ultra-quick turn around trip.  We had brunch, went to the lake, stumbled on an art festival, and toured about on the train. …

A Kinder, Gentler (and Tastier, Healthier) Betty Crocker

Bopping around on the internet today, I came across this.  I don’t know these folks but I want to befriend them now on account of how delightful I think they are for doing this.  Awesome. I love to cook and bake, but usually take somewhat of a hiatus from the big projects during summer months. …

Takin’ My Monkeys to Louisville

My monkeys and I have loved performing in every city so far, but we’re particularly excited about our Louisville performance next month.  They’ve never been, but they’ve already heard me talking so much about it (they’re very good listeners, after all), that they’ve gotten pretty enthusiastic themselves. I might have to drag them to some…

An Open Letter to My Third Metatarsal

Dearest Third Metatarsal (on my right foot): Firstly I would like to apologize for having not been fully acquainted with you before the incident.  You seem like such a fantastic metatarsal, and if it’s any consolation, I’ve made much more of an effort to befriend not just you but your familiar on the left foot…

Ticketing Details for my show in Louisville

Yippie!  I just got the ticketing details for The Good, the Bad, and the Monkey at the Bunbury this August.  I am super excited that I’ll be taking this show to my hometown of Louisville, KY later this summer!  This show is a huge deal for me. It’s the most “me” thing I’ve ever done…

Please come to the opening and the closing!

What if They Held a Peace Rally and Nobody Came? is the delightful sketch show I’m directing as part of Joe Janes’ 365 Sketches Project.  WNEP is co-producing all 365 sketches–and it’s happening right now!  Pretty exciting stuff, if you ask me.  Please come check out any of the remaining 26 performances.  But of course…
